Collection of rare Santa Barbara yoyo memorabilia reputed to be items from the "Birthplace of the American YoYo". Ephemera, documentation, and three early scarce and rare specimens are displayed in a vintage glass display box. Also included in this "lot" are eight more scarce and rare specimens, miscellaneous accessories and a bag of vintage marbles - for fun, of course! The ephemera and documentation indicate that the yoyos were originally invented and made in the Granada Building by Filipino Immigrant Pedro Flores, c. 1928. "The Wonder Toy" (supposedly manufactured in Santa Barbara) appears to be the first known instruction book on how to use a yoyo. An envelope identifies the YoYo Manufacturing Co. (in the Granger building) with a letter SIGNED by P. Flores, Oct. 7, 1928 introducing sales manager C.S. Lee along with wholesale pricing. A reference to Flores YoYo Corporation, 6301 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, Ca is located on a pamphlent "Fun for the Whole Family". Roger Gersh 221

Probably an early reclining 1900's easy chair with mechanism well thought out and crafted as part of the furniture itself. A matching wood button is meant to trip the reclining mechanism underneath. Scroll through the images to see detail. The mechanism needs some work for proper function - so some restoration will be needed. However, overall - this is a beauty. No noticeable rips or tears in the leatherette. A similar style, but non-matching ottoman will accompany this chair. Not pictured.
